Nella Ciciulla-Albrecht is a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology at Northcentral University, with an anticipated completion in 2024. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015 and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2011. As a Qualified Supervisor for mental health counselors with the Florida Department of Health, Nella brings a wealth of expertise to her practice.
With extensive experience in the forensic field, Nella has made significant contributions to the care of individuals with severe, persistent mental illness. In her role as Forensic Mental Health Director for a non-profit agency, she excelled in acute care and forensic psychology, demonstrating strong leadership and operational excellence. Nella's ability to understand community needs has been pivotal in inspiring her management team to excel and fostering creative work environments. Her efforts were recognized in 2020 when she was nominated as a Top 12 Finalist for LEAD Brevard. In 2022, she was also nominated for FIT’s weVenture “Women Who Rock” award for Compassion in Caregiving.
A multi-talented professional, Nella is a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator, Clinical Forensic Neuroscience-Informed Practitioner (CFNIP), Child Custody Evaluator, Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Qualified Parent Coordinator, and Court Appointed Juvenile Competency Evaluator. Her commitment to operational improvement has been consistently recognized throughout her career. Nella aims to make a lasting impact in her community as a Forensic Expert for the 18th Judicial Circuit in Brevard County, while also serving individuals in neighboring counties. She is actively involved in the Collaborative Law movement and is trained in facilitating Collaborative Law cases.
In addition to her clinical practice, Nella serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she teaches psychology to undergraduate students. Her therapy style is solution-focused, often challenging clients’ thought processes and behaviors to foster growth. Nella believes in the effectiveness of confrontational techniques when necessary to disrupt unhelpful patterns in her clients' lives.
***Nella is currently not accepting new patients for individual therapy; however continues to accept appointments for mental health evaluations, family mediation services, collaborative law cases, court ordered evaluations, and assessments. ***
