Betina Cress

Marriage and Family Intern

Betina is a Marriage and Family Therapy student intern who is passionate about helping couples,

military families, and individuals navigate life transitions and relationship challenges. As a third-

generation military service member and U.S. Army Reservist, she understands the emotional toll

of military life, including frequent moves, shifting identities, and the strain it can place on

connection and trust.

Before entering the mental health field, Betina spent over a decade as a military and civil

litigation paralegal. Her background in high-stress environments has shaped her calm, steady

presence and strengthened her skills in communication and conflict resolution.

Betina’s work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which supports emotional

reconnection and healing for couples and individuals. She creates a safe, collaborative space

where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they work through life’s most important

relationships.

She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University and is currently

completing her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Betina is also pursuing a certification as a

Certified Partner Trauma Therapist to better serve those healing from betrayal and relational

trauma.
